Savory Pesto Eggs on Toast

This quick and easy recipe is the perfect way to add flavor to a traditional egg breakfast! Create your own version of this meal by adding your own seasonings or using a combination of different cheeses. With just 5 simple steps this delicious meal can be yours!

Ingredients

2 tablespoons pesto

2 large eggs

kosher salt

ground black pepper

red pepper flakes

2 slices of sourdough bread

choice of cheese (goat cheese recommended)










Instructions

Step 1: Heat a medium sized frying pan over medium heat. Once the pan is hot, spread a thin layer of pesto across the entire pan.

Step 2: When the pesto is warm, crack the eggs onto the pan. Sprinkle kosher salt, ground black pepper, and red pepper flakes over the eggs. Cook the eggs for 5 minutes or until the whites are no longer runny and translucent.

Step 3: Toast both slices of sourdough bread and spread your choice of cheese onto the bread while it is still warm.

Step 4: Carefully remove the eggs from the pan and place them on top of each slice of toast.

Step 5: Enjoy!
